Company History
AMAC was originally founded as a barrel plating company known as Academy Plating Co. in 1951 by George Chimples, a young immigrant from Greece.
Academy grew and expanded by 1957 as a result of hard work and an uncompromising dedication to quality and service to its customers.
In 1958, George founded Acacia Heat Treating as he recognized the need to provide his customers with both heat treating and plating services. By 1962 he had expanded his new heat treat plant to accommodate the plating operations. The unique combination offered his customers unparalleled service and single source responsibility.
Academy Plating Co. and Acacia Heat Treating Corp. were merged in the 1970’s forming AMAC Enterprises, Inc.
