AMAC began heat treating in 1958 as Acacia Heat Treating Corp. which was merged with Academy Plating Co. in the 1970’s to form AMAC Enterprises. Today AMAC‘s primary heat treating is performed on two automated continuous 5,000 pound/per hour mesh belt furnaces. AMAC pioneered the current trend in 1991, two large mesh belt furnaces which are the furnaces of choice today in many modern heat treating plants. AMAC developed a specification for a mesh belt to meet future needs to minimize foreign material and thread damage, but with an economy of scale previously unavailable in mesh belt furnaces. Prior to AMAC‘s innovation furnace manufacturers could only supply equipment with maximum feed rates of 2,000 pounds per hour.
AMAC‘s Heat Treating Department has been audited and approved directly by the major OEM’s. AMAC‘s heat treat can offer Neutral Hardening on Mesh Belt and/or Cast Link Belt furnaces to meet the needs of our customers.
